Background

Jasper Knight is a Sydney-based artist. From 2005-2010 Jasper’s work was a finalist in the Archibald prize five times. He was also exhibited in the Wynne Prize in 2005,2006,2011 and 2012. He was awarded an Australia Council Emerging and Established New Work grant, the Freedman Foundation Scholarship and the Rocks Art Prize. He has also been a finalist in the Blake Prize, The ABN-Amro Prize, The Helen lempriere, the Brett Whiteley Prize and was the 2008 winner of The Mosman Art Prize. He has shown in and organized exhibitions in numerous venues, including every major artist-run space in Sydney. He started the Half Dozen Artist-run Initiative in 2004 and it has since shown over 150 artists in four countries. In 2007 he opened Chalk horse gallery with the generous support of the Australia Council and the City of Sydney. Jasper has shows in 2012 in Sydney, Melbourne, Miami and Singapore. He will also have a major survey show at the Shoalhaven regional gallery in October as part of an eight stop regional gallery tour from 2012-2014.

Jasper had shows in 2007 in Berlin, London, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. In 2008 be exhibited in Adelaide, Brisbane at the Brisbane Art fair, Sydney, Hong Kong and Perth.
