Brooklyn to Brooklyn - Brendon Darby
“Brooklyn to Brooklyn” brought to the canvas New York’s Brooklyn City, alongside our Brooklyn on the Hawesbury. Despite the fact that these two locations are starkly different, Brendon’s “wet window” looking glass isolated what they have in common - us. We, the viewer link all landscapes that we experience and Brendon’s inclusion of the man made window and the human finger drawings on the windows condensation, united the works via their common human perspective.
The opening night was a buzz of this philosophical chatter. Collectors were engaging with the artworks and debating with one another. The gallery hum was filled with a real beat as each artwork brought forth a new spark - a new discussion.
The crowd then enjoyed a casual q and a with special guest opener and ABC reporter Kerry O’Brien on the gallery floor. When question time was opened up to the collectors, we all enjoyed listening to Brendon generously share the intimate details of his process.
It was certainly a night to remember and we look forward to seeing where Brendon takes his unique perspective next! We eagerly anticipate bringing you his next chapter!
