A surreal serenade – John McIntosh
TVH Gallery welcomed back John McIntosh for yet another surprising and exhilarating window into the artist’s creative eye. McIntosh took influence from contemporary music for this exhibition and most works sat on the wall next to the lyrics of the song that inspired it into being. The gallery was filled with McIntosh’s list of tunes, so the show become a sight and sound sensation! With McIntosh’s signature surrealistic perspective it was truly as though you were being serenaded by the surreal.
Viewers enjoyed interpreting the works, seeing the lyrics within them and discovering new elements as they looked deeper and deeper into the web of colour and texture. Many collectors were heard muttering “James Gleeson” as they walked through the gallery and we proudly drew the comparison. Great Australian surrealists at their best!
